Backstage @ NYFW
Fast paced & intense, was the atmosphere backstage. It was also one of the most fun working experiences of my life. This was my first time working fashion week and I loved it!
I've always wanted to go to fashion week for the experience of just being there and because of my love of fashion. But, thanks to Myrdith Leon McCormick of MLM management, to be able to actually work back stage under some of the top hairstylists of the UK, was definitely "am-ah-zing".
I worked with some people I already knew and with others I just met. Talked to models as I styled their hair, models whom I thought were gonna be difficult, cold, divas; but to my pleasant surprise they couldn't have been further from that. They made the experience that much more great. We interacted with eachother, conversed, joked and laughed, like we were all on the same level. Which we really are.
I worked with and under Tresemme's lead stylists- like Matthew Curtis, learning new styles and techniques while incorporating the proper use of tresemme products and T3 appliances. We were all there to do a job collectively yet cohesively. Everyone working together to create something beautiful, was exactly how it went down backstage at the shows of NYFW Feb. 2012, and I can't wait for September. (wink, wink)
